Regarding the media coverage of “People’s Republic of China Took the Initiative to Announce the Recent Military Exercise of the People’s Liberation Army”, Ministry of National Defense has stated today (16^th) that such military exercise is a routine and planned training item of the People’s Liberation Army, and the Republic of China Armed Forces are able to fully grasp on the military activities in the surrounding areas of the Taiwan Strait using joint intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance.

Ministry of National Defense pointed out that the People’s Republic of China released the information of “military exercise” to attempt to impact on the morale of the Republic of China Armed Forces, which does not help with regional peacefulness and stability. Citizens can rest assured that Republic of China Armed Forces protect the country by elevating the combat capability through various combat trainings, and are confident to have the adequate ability to ensure national security and protect the homes of all citizens, as well as serve as the role of maintaining regional peacefulness.
